Are they suitable for all pets?

Cats and flat-faced dogs such as French Bulldogs and Pugs may find it hard to retrieve treats buried deep in snuffle mats. We have found with some of our pets that they enjoy using the mat more if we sprinkle the treats on the surface, rather than bury them within the fleece folds.

Puppies play by biting and their sharp teeth could damage a snuffle mat, as it is not designed to be chewed on. We recommend supervising puppies closely.

How to use a Snuffle Mat?

Turn the snuffle mat upside down and gently shake, to loosen up the fleece strands.

Sprinkle a handful of your pet's favourite kibble or treats throughout the snuffle mat, to start with sprinkle them on top, as your dog becomes more familiar with the mat, bury the treats deeper into the folds of the fleece.

Varying the treats will keep your pampered pet happily sniffling, snuffling and searching their mat for many sessions.

Some pets will happily share their food with other dogs they live with, but generally, if you have multiple pets you may want to consider separate snuffle mats.

After each use, shake out the snuffle mat to ensure there is no food left behind.

We recommend storing the snuffle mat after use, it is not designed to be used as a chew toy.

What type of treats to use?

We recommend using hard treats such as kibble, or training treats. This means that the mat should not need to be washed as frequently as it would if you use soft treats such as meat, fruit and vegetables.

Washing Instructions:

Either hand wash or machine-wash on a gentle cycle in cold water. Please note that the exposed rubber may mark the inside of your washing machine. We recommend reading your washing machine manual before washing your snuffle mat in it.

Do not bleach or iron.

Each mat is densely packed with over 150 high-quality anti-pill luxury fleece strips. This more expensive fleece means that it won't pill and will hold its shape better than cheaper fabrics.

Medium : Finished size approximately 40cm x 40cm (rubber mat base approx 20cm x 20cm) this size is ideal for cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and small dog breeds.

Large: Finished size approximately 50cm x 50cm (rubber mat base approx 30cm x 30cm) our best-selling size, suitable for all.

 As each snuffle mat is hand-crafted each mat may vary slightly in design and colour.

Disclaimer: As with any pet toy, your pet should always be supervised and never left unattended when using their Snuffle Mat. After use, remove the mat to keep your pet from using it as a chew toy. Do not use if any part becomes loose or damaged.
